Rigoletto: Scottish Opera
Eddie Wade is thrilled to announce that he will sing the title role in Verdi’s Rigoletto for Scottish Opera in the Summer of 2011. The opera will be conducted by Tobias Ringborg and is the UK premiere of Matthew Richardson and Jon Morrell’s New Zealand production. Gilda will be sung by Nadine Livingston and the Duke of Mantua by Edgaras Montvidas.
The Herald Scotland writes:
Finally, on the big stage, the superlative Swedish conductor Tobias Ringborg, who conducted a blinding performance of Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti in 2009, returns to conduct the UK premiere of Matthew Richardson and Jon Morrell’s production of Verdi’s Rigoletto, in which dramatic baritone Eddie Wade, attracting a lot of attention, will make his company debut in the title role, while Nadine Livingston powers through the ranks with the role of Gilda, and Edgaras Montvidas, Nemorino in Giles Havergal’s superb Elixir of Love, sings the Duke of Mantua.
